Manitoba Hydro initiated its formal participation in the CEA Mercury Sampling and Analysis Programme in September 2002 when it submitted its formal implementation plan to the Manitoba Department of Conservation for regulatory approval. Subsequent to the submission of the implementation plan, a separate Memorandum of Understanding regarding the program was signed between the above two parties on November 27^th, 2002. Following a detailed review, the September 2002 implementation plan received approval from Manitoba Conservation in February 2003 with actual sampling commencing at the Brandon Generating Station late in March 2003. As a result, Manitoba Hydro does not have first quarter data to report, but will supply quarterly data reports for the second and subsequent quarters.
